  • 4th Young Scientists Forum Held at IHB

     IHB’s deputy director Prof. Xie Shouqi gave an opening speech at the 4th Young Scientists Forum, Jan 12.

    The 4th Young Scientists Forum was held at Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) during Jan. 12 and 13. The theme of the forum is “life, health and environment”. In total, 6 invited presentations as well as 32 oral presentations were made at the forum. 13 professors from different universities and institutes in Wuhan served as judges during the forum. 38 graduate students and young and middle-aged faculty attended the forum.

    The opening ceremony of the forum was held at the conference room on the 8th floor of the State Key Laboratory building on the morning of Dec. 12. IHB’s deputy director Prof. Xie Shouqi gave an opening speech and served as one of the judges on this day. IHB Prof. Zhang Yong-An gave an invited presentation entitled "Novel functions of fish B lymphocytes and immunoglobulins" for the audience. 32 competitors divided into two groups to compete for the final awards.

    On Jan. 13, IHB Prof. Yin Zhan, assistant director of IHB, gave a closing speech. He extended his sincere wish to the young scientists and hoped the forum can attract more brightest young minds to participate in it.

    The Young Scientists Forum is an annually held meeting which was launched and organized by IHB. It aims to strengthen academic exchanges, inspire innovative thinking and build up friendship and partnership between young scientists and students in Wuhan. What makes the 4th forum different from the previous ones is that young and middle-aged faculty were also engaged.
