Meeting on Progress Achieved in “Key Technology of Natural and Artificial Cyanophage Control” Held at IHB

 
The Meeting on Progress Achieved in “Key Technology of Natural and Artificial Cyanophage Control” was held at IHB, Feb. 17.  
On February 17, the Meeting on Progress Achieved in “Key Technology of Natural and Artificial Cyanophage Control” was held at Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB).

At the meeting, Prof. ZHAO Jindong (CAS academician), principal investigator of the project, together with the major members of the project team, respectively introduced the research progress they’ve achieved in their sub-projects. Through discussion, the attendees had a clearer view of the existing problems and the goals for future study.

Prof. Zhao said, “with one year’s hardworking, most of the sub-projects have been overfulfilled in advance. Judged from the achieved progress, there is still space for improvement.”

 
The attendees visited the Freshwater Algae Culture Collection of the Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (FACHB-Collection).

Prof. SU Ronghui, deputy director general of the Bureau of Life Sciences and Biotechnology, CAS, stressed, "when conducting research, besides of the number of published papers, it is its application and whether it can solve the real issues that count.”

Launched in January 2011, the project "Key Technology of Natural and Artificial Cyanophage Control” aims to develop the cyanophage control technology.

After the meeting, the attendees visited the Freshwater Algae Culture Collection of the Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (FACHB-Collection).
