The Chinese classical pianist Lang Lang visited the porpoises living area at Baiji Dolphinarium on Dec. 14, 2016.

At the invitation of WildAid, the Chinese classical pianist Lang Lang paid a visit to the Baiji Dolphinarium at Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) on Dec. 14, 2016. During his visit, he shot a video to appeal more attention and efforts to be paid to the protection of the endangered species including the Yangtze finless porpoises and the vaquita, a rare species of porpoise endemic to the northern part of the Gulf of California.

Lang Lang visited the porpoises living area. He fed the porpoises and learned to train them with a basketball. IHB Prof. WANG Ding and Prof. WANG Kexiong introduced the living status of the Yangtze finless porpoises to Lang Lang.

Lang Lang said that all efforts shall be made to protect the porpoises; otherwise, they may go the same way as the functionally extinct Baiji. All the creatures live on the same planet; its mankinds responsibility to do our bits to protect the endangered species.
