General Introduction:

The Research Group of Lake Ecology is the major part of the Donghu Experimental Station of Lake Ecosystems - a state-level field observation station for long-term observation, scientific research and engineering demonstration.

Based on the long-term ecology research of East Lake in Wuhan, the major research areas of this group include:

* Lake ecology (Eutrophication, plankton ecology, macrozoobenthos ecology)

* Mechanisms of cyanobacterial blooms and the control technology

* Eco-toxicology of microcystins and ecological molecular toxicology

* Microbial ecology and algal physiology biochemistry

* Ecological chemistry of odor compounds

* Mechanism of regime shift in the shallow lakes

* Mechanisms of loss of biodiversity in the Yangtze River system and their ecological restoration strategy
