    General Introduction:

The research aspects of our group include mainly fish biology, fish ecology, fish population dynamics, the impact of damming to fish resources, and the dynamics of ichthyoplankton resource.

For the purpose of conservation, our group has conducted research of the freshwater fishes in China for a long time, and has made great achievements. Recently, our works focus on the study of impact of the Three Gorges Dam (TGD) on the Yangtze fishes, conservation biology of the rare (such as Chinese sturgeon) and endemic fish in the upper Yangtze, ichthyoplankton resource of the Four Chinese Major Carps (FCMC), aquatic ecology in the Chishui River, and breeding fish as laboratory animal. Through analyzing the collected data, we understand the changes of the endemic fishes during construction of TGD and the current status of FCMC and Chinese sturgeon in the Yangtze River, and suggest the conservation tactics.
