General Introduction：

The group is taking on the exploration research of the freshwater algae involving taxonomy, phylogenetics and resourcefullization(such as edible Nostoc etc.), working on the relationship of algae, zooplankton and water nutrition and the influence of the feeding of the zooplankton to succession of algae populations. Meanwhile, the group is also focused on the role of benthic algae in the ecosystem of lakes. The group holds the largest National Freshwater Algal Herbarium.
