The Office of Research and Technology Development implements scientific policies, regulations and plans formulated by the state, the CAS and IHB. It is the administrative office in charge of the research work carried out in the institute.  

It outlines the institute’s S&T development plans and formulates rules and regulations on research affairs; manages research projects, budgets, achievements (including research outcomes and S&T awards), intellectual property, and classified projects.  

The office is also responsible for collecting and providing S&T policies and information for the researchers; promoting international cooperation and cooperation between IHB and local establishments; and assisting with the administration of the key laboratories at the state and the Academy level, field stations, engineering centers and joint construction units.  

Other office responsibilities include research statistics and archives management, academic exchanges, affiliated society and academic committee management, editorial and publishing of the journal ACTA Hydrobiologica Sinica, and other related duties when required.
