WANG Jiaji (Chia-Chi Wang, 王家楫), 1898-1976
CAS Member; Pioneer of protozoology and rotiferology in China. He worked at IHB since 1930 and served as director of IHB during 1934 and 1976.
Native of Fengxian District, Shanghai.
Jul 1917- Jun 1921, studied at the Agriculture Department of Nanjing Higher Normal School and received his B.Ag.
Jan 1925- Jun 1928, postgraduate student at the Department of Zoology at University of Pennsylvania and received his Ph.D.
Jun 1923- Nov 1924, Research Assistant at the Institute of Biology, Science Society of China in Nanjing.
Jan 1925- Jun 1927, visiting scholar at Westchester Institute of Biology in the United States.
Sept 1928- Jun 1929, Sterling Researcher at the Department of Zoology, Yale University.
Jul 1927- Jul 1934, professor at the Institute of Biology, Science Society of China in Nanjing; professor at the Department of Biology of National Central University.
Jul 1934- May 1944, served as Director and Researcher at the Institute of Botany and Zoology of Academia Sinica.
May 1944- May 1949, served as Director and Researcher at the Institute of Zoology of Academia Sinica.
1950-1959, served as Director and Researcher at Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
1959-1961, served as Vice President of Wuhan Branch, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director of Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
1961-1976, served as Vice President of Zhongnan Branch, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director of Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
In 1955, elected as a member of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
