The Sixth China-Korea Joint Seminar on Preservation and Application of Biological Resources

The 6th China-Korea Joint Seminar on Preservation and Application of Biological Resources was held on Sept. 16 at Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB). About 20 scientists and researchers from the Korea National Research Resource Center (KNRRC) and IHB attended this seminar.    

IHB Prof. ZHU Zuoyan (CAS academician) gave a welcome speech at the seminar and introduced the previously convened China-Korea Joint Seminars. Four oral presentations were made at the seminar, including IHB Prof. CUI Zongbins presentation Genetic ablation of solute carrier family 7a3a impairs nitric oxide synthesis and hepatic fatty acid oxidation during fasting   

During the seminar, all the delegates visited the China Zebrafish Resource Center and the Freshwater Algae Culture Collection of IHB. Accompanied by Prof. ZHU Zuoyan, Prof. Pyung Rim Chung from KNRRC visited IHB Prof. LIU Jiankang (CAS scademician) who is now 97 years old.    

China-Korea Joint Seminar on Preservation and Application of Biological Resources was launched by IHB and KNRRC in 2009. It is held every year in China or Korea.
