IHB Professor Attends the Second International Symposium of Fish Growth & Reproduction

Fish growth and reproduction is a dynamic area of research in the field of Comparative Endocrinology. The second International Symposium of Fish Growth & Reproduction was held at the University of Hong Kong. Experts and scholars from about 18 countries and regions attended this symposium. A variety of topics concerning with the regulatory mechanism of fish growth and reproduction, signal transduction, sex determination and differentiation were discussed at the symposium.

IHB Prof. Wei HU attended this symposium as an invited speaker and made an oral presentation on gene expression profile of hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis (HPG) in fish. He introduced the new research progress on gene screening of regulation on fish growth and reproduction and regulatory mechanism of gonadal development by using the model of antisense sGnRH transgenic Common Carp (Cyprinus carpio) with unilateral gonad produced by the Research Group of Fish Gene Engineering of IHB.
