10th Symposium of World's Chinese Scientists on Nutrition and Feeding of Finfish and Shellfish Held in Wuhan
The 10thSymposium of World’s Chinese Scientists on Nutrition and Feeding of Finfish and Shellfish (SWCSNFFS) was held in Wuhan during Oct. 22 and 26, 2015.
The 10th Symposium of World’s Chinese Scientists on Nutrition and Feeding of Finfish and Shellfish (SWCSNFFS) was held in Wuhan during Oct. 22 and 26, 2015. The symposium was organized by the Subcommittee of Aquaculture Nutrition and Feeds, China Society of Fisheries, and undertaken by Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB), Huazhong Agricultural University and Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences. 1,350 scholars and experts attended the symposium. In total, 516 abstracts were submitted, 128 oral presentations were made (including 10 keynote speeches), 292 posters were presented.
The 10 SWCSNFFS focused on high “quality, safety and accuracy” aquaculture. Eight topics were featured at the symposium: Nutrient requirements and ingredient utilization; Protein source utilization; Energy source utilization; Feed additives and animal health; Environment and product quality; Feeding and regulation; Aquafeed and application; nutrition and additives, nutrition and gene regulation.
The symposium also arranged the post-graduate forum and enterprises forum for principals, experts who work in the well-known feed enterprises or scholars and young scientists who encounter difficulties in their research and innovation to interact with each other on issues of mutual interest.
The SWCSNFFS has become the largest gathering for global Chinese aquaculture nutritionists, from academy to industry and has become one of the largest and well-rounded communication platforms for exchanging ideas, sharing achievements and discussing advances in nutrition, feed and feeding of finfish and shellfish. The SWCSNFFS would also improve the tight cooperation for industry, education and research and receive more and more attention and interests worldwide.
