IHB Prof. XIE Shouqi attended the international conference “Profit on Aquaculture 2017”, held in Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh State, India during 11-14 February, 2017.

The international conference “Profit on Aquaculture 2017” was held in Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh State, India during 11-14 February, 2017.    

Prof. XIE Shouqi from Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) attended the conference and gave an oral presentation with the title of “Recent Trend in Chinese Aquaculture”. In his presentation, he particularly introduced the work carried out in the selection of new species, aquafeeds technology, disease prevention and control, and ecological aquaculture modes in China.    

After the conference, the attendees had post-conference tours to shrimp farms and hatcheries, fish farms and hatcheries, fish and shrimp processing factories, feed factories and food testing laboratory.    

At the closing ceremony, five institutions including IHB, Asian Institute of Technology, Andhra Pradesh Fisheries and Ocean University, Guangdong Link Ocean Group Co. Ltd. and AG Group of Industries signed an MoU on research and application of feed and feeding technology as well as talents cultivation. Mr. Prathipati Pull Rao, Minister for Agriculture in Andhra Pradesh State, attended the signing ceremony.
