Prof. HU Zhengyu, deputy director of IHB, as well as Prof. WANG Ding, an expert in the study and conservation of the Yangtze finless porpoises, introduced the living threats that the Yangtze finless porpoises had been facing and how the conservative measures had been carried out.

The visiting guests watched the porpoises through the windows. Mr. Whittingham said that IHB had made a lot contribution to the conservation of the Yangtze finless porpoises. He said the British Consulate General in Wuhan would very much like to provide convenience and assistance in the conservation of the Yangtze finless porpoises and other Yangtze aquatic animals in areas such as public science education. Learning that IHB has been cooperating with the Zoological Society of London, Mr. Whittingham hoped further cooperation could be promoted in fields of mutual interests.
