Vice President of University of Ottawa Visits IHB

On July 25th, 2023, Professor Sylvain Charbonneau, vice president of the University of Ottawa in Canada, visited the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
XIE Shouqi, deputy director of IHB, delivered a welcoming speech, recalling the longstanding friendly cooperation between the institute and the University of Ottawa. He expressed the expectation for both sides to continue maintaining stable international cooperation and exchanges.
Professor Sylvain Charbonneau introduced the University of Ottawa's academic disciplines, faculty strength, student situation, and international cooperation.
HE Feng, head of IHB’s Office of Research and Technology Development, briefly introduced the research areas of the institute, its achievements, and an overview of international cooperation.
HU Wei, deputy director of IHB, discussed the extensive academic exchanges between the institute and the University of Ottawa, highlighting the in-depth collaboration in the field of fish reproductive development, particularly the significant research results and recent advancements achieved in cooperation with Professor Vance Trudeau of the University of Ottawa.
During the exchange and discussion, Professor Sylvain Charbonneau highly praised the achievements of the cooperation between the two sides, expressing the university's willingness to further strengthen cooperation in personnel exchanges, forums, scientific research, and other aspects.
IHB Professor ZHU Zuoyan mentioned the ongoing development of the friendly cooperation between the institute and the University of Ottawa.
Professor Sylvain Charbonneau also visited the Institute's Baiji Dolphinarium and the China Zebrafish Resource Center.
