Prof. YAN Qing, director general of the Bureau of Science & Technology for Development, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) on April 26, 2014.    

Prof. ZHAO Jindong, director of IHB, sincerely welcomed the visiting delegation, Prof. HU Zhengyu, deputy director of IHB, introduced the overview of IHB from the aspects including the institute’s historical development, personnel construction, research platforms, major and important S&T progress, some projects being currently undertaken etc. Prof. XU Xudong, deputy director of IHB, introduced the implementation of the institute’s “One-Three-Five” development plan to the visiting delegation.    

The director general gave positive comments on the major research achievements undertaken by IHB, e.g. the constructed wetlands and water body ecological restoration, the promotion of the allogynogenetic gibel carp “CAS Ⅲ". He hoped that the researchers could learn from the experience gained during the transformation of major S&T project achievements and further highlight the visibility of how science and technology promote development.    

The director general also expressed that the Bureau of Science & Technology for Development will act as a coordinator to support the S&T development of the institute.
