A seven-member delegation led by TANG Wei, director of the Intellectual Property Management Division of the Bureau of Science and Technology for Development at Chinese Academy of Sciences, paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) on June 11, 2014.

Prof. XU Xudong, deputy director of IHB, welcomed the delegation. He said that IHB is credited with several patented technologies that have relatively large influence, yet most of these technologies are non-profit so the transformation of achievements has its unique features. Prof. HE Feng, head of the R&D Office at IHB, gave a presentation on the overview of IHB, with special emphasis on the intellectual property management. IHB professors including Prof. HU Chunxiang introduced their respective patented technologies and achievements, and put forward some questions concerning achievements application and IPR protection.

TANG Wei said, CAS focuses more on IPR protection and is now conceiving new IPR encouragement mechanisms. If IHB could transform some of its well-developed patented technologies, the development of the institute and the implementation of the institutes One-Three-Five development plan will surely by advanced. Some teachers from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences answered the questions proposed by the attendees.
