Prof. XIE Shouqi, deputy director of IHB, released the aquatic life.

At the invitation of Danjiangkou Municipal Government, Prof. XIE Shouqi, deputy director of Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB), Prof. He Feng, head of the R&D Office, and Prof. ZHANG Tanglin participated in the 2014 release event of aquatic life held in Danjiangkou Reservoir Region which is the water source area of the Mid-Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Program on June 5.    

The event, with the theme of “Release New Hope and Protect Water Resources”, was jointly organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, the Office in charge of the South-to-North Water Diversion Program under the State Council, and Hubei Provincial People’s Government.    

Before the event, Danjiangkou Municipal Government signed a strategic cooperative agreement with IHB. Prof. ZHANG Tanglin later gave a lecture on the protection and utilization of fishery resources in the Danjingkou Reservoir Region.   

On behalf of both sides, IHB deputy director Prof. XIE Shouqi and Mr. ZHOU Desui, vice mayor of Danjiangkou, signed a strategic cooperative agreement.
