IHB Huai'an Center Holds 4th Joint Meeting
The 4th Joint Meeting of Huai’an Center, Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) was held on June 1, 2014. The appraisal meeting of the Key Laboratory of Sustainable Fisheries and Environmental Protection for Lake of Northern Jiangsu was held at the same time.

The meeting was chaired by LI Taisheng, director general of Huai’an Science and Technology Bureau. Prof. XU Xudong, deputy director of IHB, extended gratitude to the support from Huai’an Municipal Government and other institutions that co-established Huai’an Research Center. Prof. XIE Songguang, director of Huai’an Research Center, gave a detailed presentation on the construction of the Center and how the work carried out there.
ZHU Yimin, vice-chairman of Huai’an Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, positively commented the achievements that the Center has accomplished over the past 4 years. He hoped the Center can give full play to its strengths and let its development cater to local demands.
The attendees exchanged views on the challenges and opportunities the Center is facing and proposed some suggestions on the research directions, development positioning, platform construction and personnel cultivation in the Center.
