IHB Participates in 2014 National Science Day of Wuhan

Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) participated in the 2014 National Science Day of Wuhan launched at a museum located in Qiaokou District on Sept. 20. The theme of this activity aimed at encouraging the nationals to be involved in the innovative development.    

The 2014 National Science Day of Wuhan consisted of six major activities: youth activity, opening day of S&T institutions, S&T volunteers, community activity and agriculture activity in urban city. The organizing committee also took advantage of the internet to arrange an online S&T quiz for all the local residents.    

IHB used display boards and booklets to introduced the institute itself and disseminate the scientific knowledge on conservation of aquatic biodiversity to the public. IHBs participation aimed to encourage more people to be actively engaged in the protection of endangered species and conservation of water environment.    

The 2014 National Science Day activity lasted from Sept. 20 to 26. During the period, IHBs Museum for Aquatic Organisms and Baiji Dolphinarium opened to the public for free.
