The Postdoctoral Mobile Station in Environmental Sciences and Engineering at Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) was approved by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and National Administrative Committee of Post-Doctoral Researchers recently. Besides the postdoctoral mobile station in biology, this is the second postdoctoral mobile station at IHB.   

The establishment of the Postdoctoral Mobile Station in Environmental Sciences and Engineering will further improve the postdoctoral research platform at IHB and widen the postdoctoral research fields’ coverage. It not only provides necessary support for the young talents team construction and also plays significant role in cultivating high-level scientific personnel for the state.    

Since 1991 when IHB was approved to set up its first postdoctoral mobile station in biology, its team of postdoctoral research fellows keeps growing. In total, IHB has recruited 131 postdocs. At present, there are 44 postdocs at IHB. Over the past five years, IHB’s postdoctoral mobile station has conducted 14 China Postdoctoral Science Foundation funded projects. In 2014 alone, 3 postdocs were funded by the National Natural Science Foundation for Young Scientists.
