Environment Protection and Resources Conservation Committee of the National People’s Congress Visits IHB

 
                    The delegation visited the rearing hall of the Yangtze finless porpoises. 

The delegation of the Environment Protection and Resources Conservation Committee of the National Peoples Congress paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) on Oct. 16, 2014. The delegation was led by WANG Hongju, deputy director of the Committee. The purpose of their visit was to investigate the conservation status of endangered species in the Yangtze River. 

  

The delegation visited the rearing hall and species display room of the Baiji Dolphinarium. IHB Prof. WANG Ding introduced the population status, living crisis and protective measures of the Yangtze finless porpoises. WANG Hongju said that IHBs efforts in saving the Baiji, Chinese sturgeons and the Yangtze finless porpoises were appreciated. Both sides exchanged views on the amendment of the Law on the Protection of Wildlife.
