The Symposium on 2014 Academic Committee of State Key Laboratory of Freshwater Ecology and Biotechnology (FEBL) was held at IHB on Nov. 3, 2014.

The Symposium on 2014 Academic Committee of State Key Laboratory of Freshwater Ecology and Biotechnology (FEBL) was held at Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) on Nov. 3, 2014. The symposium was chaired by IHB Prof. ZHU Zuoyan (CAS academician) who is the director of the academic committee.    

At the symposium, IHB Prof. NIE Pin gave a work report of the overview of FEBL in 2014. He mainly introduced the positioning of FEBL, its ongoing research projects, its personnel structure and facilities. The attendess put forth their suggestions on the development plan, undertaken projects and personnel construction of the FEBL.    

Prof. CHEN Yiyu (CAS academician) said that the FEBL shall keep pace with the times. It shall set up its goals to meet the important needs of the state and the scientific issues. Its research directions shall be made clearer and in the meantime, the personnel structure shall be optimized in a much more proper way.    

Prof. ZHU Zuoyan (CAS academician) stressed that the FEBL shall pay more attention to the cultivation and introduction of young scientists and play an active role in the international collaboration with other institutions.
