A three-member delegation led by HOU Lihong, deputy director-general of Department of Rural Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) on Dec. 19, 2014.    

Prof. XU Xudong, deputy director of IHB, welcomed the visiting delegation. The deputy director-general HOU Lihong introduced their visiting purposes and reviewed on the background, development and significance of the S&T commissioners. Prof. HE Feng, head of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs of IHB, introduced the overview of IHB and the S&T commissioners’ team at IHB.    

Several IHB researchers who were sent as S&T commissioners talked about their personal working experience and shared their views and suggestions.    

HOU Lihong said in the conclusion remarks that he appreciated the contribution that IHB S&T commissioners made in the Three Rural Issues, a short term for the issues related with agriculture, farmer and rural area. Hou said that S&T commissioners should help solve the urgent demanding issues of farmers; the evaluation mechanism of S&T commissioners shall be established; and favorable funding and supporting policies shall be formulated.
