A six-member delegation led by ZHOU Xianwang, Secretary of CPC Huangshi Municipal Committee, visited the Center for Algal Biotechnology and Biofuels at IHB, May 28, 2015.

A six-member delegation led by ZHOU Xianwang, Secretary of CPC Huangshi Municipal Committee, and DONG Weimin, mayor of Huangshi, paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) on May 28, 2015.    

The delegation visited the Center for Algal Biotechnology and Biofuels, Museum for Aquatic Organisms, Supercomputing Environment Center, China Zebrafish Resource Center and Freshwater Algae Culture Collection.    

ZHAO Jindong, director of IHB, welcomed the visiting delegation. YUAN Zhiming, president of Wuhan Brach, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), introduced the overview of the CAS Wuhan Brach from the aspects of personnel cultivation, research outcome, local collaboration, pioneer initiatives and CAS institutes in Wuhan. Prof. HU Zhengyu, deputy director of IHB, introduced the historical development and research achievements of the institute.  

DONG Weimin, mayor of Huangshi, fully affirmed the performance of ZHANG Xianfeng who is the Professor of IHB and served temporary positions in Huangshi Municipal Government during 2012 and 2015. CHEN Pingping, vice president of Wuhan Branch, Chinese Academy of Sciences gave suggestions to the future collaboration between CAS institutes in Wuhan and establishments in Huangshi.    

ZHOU Xianwang expressed gratitude to Wuhan Branch and IHB for their support to Huangshi. He positively commented on ZHANG Xianfeng’s performance in Huangshi and hoped that Zhang can be employed by the government as a consultant. Zhou also said that Huangshi will support the construction of Huangshi Center of Hubei High-tech Innovation and Business Incubation Center, thus strengthening the communication and cooperation between Huangshi and CAS institutes in Wuhan.

The six-member delegation interacted with IHB on issues of mutual concern.

ZHOU Xianwang, Secretary of CPC Huangshi Municipal Committee, hoped to strengthen the communication and cooperation between Huangshi and CAS institutes in Wuhan.
