Sixth Training Class of Aquatic Biomonitoring and Application Held at IHB

 
The Sixth Training  Class of Aquatic Biomonitoring and Applicationwas held at IHB during June 14 and 18, 2015.

The Sixth Training  Class of Aquatic Biomonitoring and Application, organized by Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB), was held at IHB during June 14 and 18, 2015. Over 70 trainees from universities, institutes, environment monitoring centers, water affairs companies and enterprises attended the class.    

The topics of this 4-day training class included sampling, monitoring classification of plankton, algal isolation and culture, dection of cyanotoxins and off-flavor in water. Trainess would have numerous opportunities to acquire the knowledge of algal classification and culture management. Trainers also encouraged them  to bring algal samples for observe and/or identify microscopically. The common laboratory techniques were also taught at the class.  

The training class served as a communication platform for the trainees to enhance their ability to monitor plankton. Launched in 2012, this training class has come to its sixth session. This year, it won a three-year financial support by the Chinese Academy of Sciences for the top training class.  

 
Over 70 trainees from universities, institutes, environment monitoring centers, water affairs companies and enterprises attended the class.
