IHB holds workshop on knowledge of patent on July 10, 2015.

In order to push forward the self-dependent innovative development, promote the level of patent application, and strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights, Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) held a workshop on the knowledge of patent on July 10, 2015.    

Two patent attorneys from Wuhan Yuchen Patent Office came to IHB to introduce the patent application process. The attendees interacted with the two attorneys on the issues of mutual interests.    

IHB always encourages the researchers to apply for the patent and also stressed the management and protection of intellectual property rights. Over the past three years, there has been an increase in the number of pending patent applications and the number of patents issued. Every year, the number of pending patent applications is more than 30 while the number of patents issued is more than 18.    

IHB has also achieved a lot in the transformation of intellectual property. The patent “An integrated biological method for mobile sand dune immobilization and desertified area restoration” was honored the 15^th Chinese excellent patent award in 2013. The patent “A Method and Device for Sewage Treatment” was honored the 16^th Chinese Excellent Patent Award in 2014.
