Prof. WANG Ding Honored 2014 Haichang Award for Distinguished Contribution

Prof. WANG Ding from Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) was honored the 2014 Haichang Award for Distinguished Contribution on Sept. 15, 2015 at Haichang Award Ceremony for the conservation of aquatic wildlife in 2014. The ceremony was organized by National Aquatic Wildlife Conservation Association. About 800 people attended the ceremony.
The 2014 Haichang Award was consisted of five categories: distinguished contribution, champions of the environment, technology of the year, contribution of the year and science popularization. The Award for Distinguished Contribution is the highest level of Haichang Award. It is in recognition of the team or individual who made outstanding contribution in the conservation of aquatic wildlife. By online voting and peer review, IHB Prof. WANG Ding won the Haichang Award for Distinguished Contribution. Prof. CAO Wenxuan (CAS academician) who is the vice president of National Aquatic Wildlife Conservation Association was one of the presenters of the award.
Since 2012, the Haichang Award ceremony for the conservation of aquatic wildlife has been held three times. It is funded by the Haichang Ocean Park Holdings Ltd. The ceremony aims at attracting more people to join in the conservation of aquatic wildlife.
