Deputy Mayor of Hefei Visits IHB

 
A seven-member delegation led by JIANG Hong, deputy mayor of Hefei, paid a visit to IHB on Sept. 24, 2015.

A seven-member delegation led by JIANG Hong, deputy mayor of Hefei, paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) on Sept. 24, 2015. Their visit was to strengthen cooperation with IHB on the ecological restoration of Chaohu Lake.    

Prof. XU Xudong, deputy director of IHB, welcomed the delegation. Prof. HE Feng, head of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs at IHB, introduced the overview of IHB to the delegation. Prof. WANG Hongzhu, director of the Research Center for Freshwater Ecology, introduced the ongoing projects related to Chaohu Lake and the achievements they have ever made. Both sides exchanged views on the control of cyanobacterial blooms and restoration of vegetation.    

The visiting deputy mayor said in his closing remarks that the pollution treatment and ecological restoration of Chaohu Lake is very important. He extended his gratitude to IHB research teams who contribute a lot to the pollution treatment of Chaohu Lake. He hoped that both sides can deepen the collaboration and achieve the goal of restoring the ecology of Chaohu Lake.
