The plaque for the SDIC-IHB Center for Microalgal Biotechnology & Biofuels was unveiled at IHB on Sept. 24, 2015.

The plaque for the SDIC-IHB Center for Microalgal Biotechnology & Biofuels which was jointly established by the State Development and Investment Corporation and Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) was unveiled at IHB on Sept. 24, 2015.    

A ten-member delegation led by WANG Huisheng, president of SDIC, attended the plaque unveiling ceremony. WANG Huisheng and ZHAO Jindong, director of IHB, jointly unveiled the plaque.    

WANG Huisheng said that SDIC was confident in the future of the collaboration which had been support by well-equipped facilities, research resources and high-level talents. He hoped that the newly established center can make more profits and generate more research outcomes.    

ZHAO Jindong said that the center could be built as a role model for the collaboration between institutes and state-owned enterprises.    

The SDIC-IHB Center for Microalgal Biotechnology & Biofuels was jointly established by the State Development and Investment Corporation and Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) in July 2013. The center centers on the study of the basic theory and key engineering issues regarding with the fields of microalgal biotechnology and biofuels. The long term development goal for this center is to build itself as an industry, academy and research institution cooperation platform with its unique features in microalgal biotechnology. It is hoped that it will become a demonstration base that conducts international cooperation and academic exchanges with the world, and a training base for young scientists and engineers who are qualified to be pioneers in microalgal biotechnology and biofuels. 

HU Zhengyu, deputy director of IHB, introduced the distinguished scholars in the history of IHB to WANG Huisheng (2nd R), president of SDIC.
