CAS Vice President LIU Weiping Visits IHB

 

A four-member delegation led by LIU Weiping, vice president of Chinese Academy of Sciences, paid a visit to IHB on July 6, 2016.    

 

A four-member delegation led by LIU Weiping, vice president of Chinese Academy of Sciences, paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) on July 6, 2016.    

ZHAO Jindong, director of IHB, introduced the overview of the institute from the aspects of the historical development, personnel structure and construction, the implementation of the One-Three-Five development plan and other facilities that support the development of the institute.    

The visiting vice president listened to the introduction carefully and had an in-depth communication with IHB researchers and principals on issues regarding the strategic development goals, S&T achievements, and talent cultivation.    

Liu said that IHB has strong background in talent and research abilities, and has achieved greatly in S&T innovation. He proposed suggestions to the institute: the academicians of IHB shall play active roles in the development of the institute; and IHB shall be actively engaged in the ecological protection of environment in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and set this as a major strategic goal.  
  

Later, the visiting delegation visited Center for Microalgal Biotechnology & Biofuels and China Zebrafish Resource Center at IHB.
