A 19-member delegation led by ZHAO Hongquan, deputy mayor of Huai’an City, paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) on July 20, 2016. The delegation included officials from Huai’an’s Committee of Agriculture, Bureau of Grain, Bureau of Finance and leaders from Xuyi county.    

IHB’s deputy director Prof. XU Xudong welcomed the delegation. Prof. HE Feng, director of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs at IHB, introduced the overview of the institute. Prof. XIE Songguang, director of IHB’s Huai’an Research Center, introduced the personnel structure and research progress at the center. Principals from Xuyi county introduced the development status and existing problems in the commercialization of local lobsters.   

ZHAO Hongquan, deputy mayor of Huai’an, positively commented on the construction and development of Huai’an Research Center. He expressed his gratitude to IHB for its efforts given in the aquatic development and protection of water ecological environment. He hoped IHB can provide S&T support for the commercialization of local lobsters. Both sides later had in-depth interaction on the S&T cooperation in the development of special aquatic species.
