The 2016 Academic Committee Meeting of Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) was held at the Ecosystem Research Station of Xiangxi River in the Three Gorges Reservoir Region on August 4 and 5, 2016.

The 2016 Academic Committee Meeting of Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) was held at the newly established Ecosystem Research Station of Xiangxi River in the Three Gorges Reservoir Region on August 4 and 5, 2016. Eleven members including Prof. CHEN Yiyu who is the chair of the academic committee attended the meeting.    

The meeting discussed the establishment of new research group, the name changing of two research groups and the results of 2016 IHB young scientist research project.    

The attendees later visited Ecosystem Research Station of Xiangxi River. Prof. CAI Qinghua reported the overview of the station to the visiting attendees. They had in-depth discussion on the position and future development of the station.    

In conclusion, Prof. CHEN Yiyu said that the Ecosystem Research Station of Xiangxi River shall fully exert its efforts in the key scientific issues related to the Xiangxi River basin and Three Gorges Reservoir Region. Knowing its strengths and aiming at meeting the national demands, IHB shall strengthen cooperation within the institutes and with other institutions.
