IHB Group Affiliated to CAS Youth Innovation Promotion Association Holds First Seminar
The group set up at Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) which is affiliated to the Youth Innovation Promotion Association of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) held its first seminar on August 10, 2016. Dr. WANG Haijun, group leader at IHB, chaired the seminar.
Dr. Wang introduced the overview of the Association both at the academy and institute level. He also shared his understanding of the positive roles that the Association will play in the personal growth of the members, the promotion of academic exchanges and collaboration, the strengthening of interdisciplinary development and the transformation of research achievements.
The group members introduced their respective research progress and had in-depth discussion on issues related to the communication and collaboration between young scientists at IHB, on how to push forward the academic exchanges and cooperation with other institutions and how to give full play to the positive roles of the group members.
CAS Youth Innovation Promotion Association was established in June 2011. It is aimed at organizing and combining the CAS young scientists together to broaden their academic horizon, promote interdisciplinary development and enhance research ability. By the end of 2015, the total members of CAS Youth Innovation Promotion Association reached 2,190. Ten IHB young scientists have been elected to the association.
