Prof. WU Zhenbin Awarded 2016 National Excellent S&T Worker

 
Prof. WU Zhenbin from Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) was awarded the 2016 National Excellent S&T Worker.  

Recommended by Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, Prof. WU Zhenbin from Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) was awarded the 2016 National Excellent S&T Worker, according to an official document issued recently by China Association for Science and Technology.    

Prof. Wu is the winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. He has long been engaged in the study of water environment protection and ecological restoration and has accomplished a series research and engineering achievements.    

As the principal investigator, one project led by Prof. Wu won the second prize of the National S&T Progress Award; one project led by him won the Chinese Excellent Patent Award; nine projects led by him won the S&T awards at the provincial and ministry level. He co-organized the first international training class on water environment protection and water pollution treatment technology which was organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology. He launched and organized the 7th Cross-Straits symposium on constructed wetland which promoted the ecological engineering projects of constructed wetland to a nation wide scope.    

The National Excellent S&T Worker was an award launched by China Association for Science and Technology in 1997. The award is given for once in a life time.
