IHB Researchers Attend 5th National Symposium on Conventional Freshwater Fish Nutrition and Feed

 
The 5th National Symposium on Conventional Freshwater Fish Nutrition and Feed was held in Yangzhou during Nov. 14 and 16, 2016.

The 5th National Symposium on Conventional Freshwater Fish Nutrition and Feed was held in Yangzhou during Nov. 14 and 16, 2016. 213 representatives from the National Technology System for Conventional Freshwater Fish Industries, experimental stations and other 16 units attended the symposium. Prof. XIE Shouqi, deputy director of Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB), was invited to attend the symposium. All the attendees discussed issues related to the nutrition and feed of conventional freshwater fish.    

Prof. GE Xianping from Freshwater Fisheries Research Center of Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences gave an oral presentation on the study of nutrition requirements and formula feed of bighead. Prof. XIE Shouqi from IHB gave an oral presentation on the selective breeding of fish: a perspective from comparative nutrition on Allogynogenetic silver crucian carp.   

The theme of the symposium is nutrition regulation and feed application of conventional freshwater fish. In total, 26 oral presentations and 30 posters were made during the symposium. IHB Associate Prof. HAN Dong and Ph.D.students HU Huihua, LU Fei and ZOU Tao gave oral presentations respectively. Ph.D.students XU Wenjie, CAO Shenping, SONG Xuerong, GAO Shiyang, ZHANG Peiyu, GONG Yulong, LI Handong and LIU Cui presented their research progress at the poster session.    

The National Symposium on Conventional Freshwater Fish Nutrition and Feed is held every year. It has become one of the most important symposiums on conventional freshwater fish nutrition and feed in China.
