The 2016 Winter Meeting on Strategic Development of IHB was held on Nov. 28, 2016.

The 2016 Winter Meeting on Strategic Development of Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) was held on Nov. 28, 2016. More than 70 people including professors, PIs, heads of administrative offices attended the meeting.      

At the meeting, Prof. XU Xudong, deputy director of IHB, introduced the development status of the institute and pointed out the existing problems in the disciplinary structure, core issues, base and breeding facilities, basic guarantee system of research groups. Prof. ZHAO Jindong, director of IHB, gave a keynote presentation on the implementation of the Thirteenth Five Year Plan. He introduced IHB’s development status during the Thirteenth Five Year Plan. As an Institute for special needs, Prof. Zhao mentioned some aspects that IHB shall improve on: funds, academic level, platform construction, management.    

In the free discussion session, all the attendees discussed issues related to the implementation of the Thirteenth Five Year Plan, the state S&T projects, construction of the mechanisms and systems that could meet the new development trends and personnel construction.
