Second Aquatic Sciences Elite Class Launched at IHB

The Second Aquatic Sciences Elite (ASE) Class was launched at IHB on May 7, 2017. 

The Second Aquatic Sciences Elite (ASE) Class was launched at Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) on May 7, 2017.    

LIU Guangle, deputy president of College of Fisheries at Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU), introduced the goals of the ASE Class and how students were selected into this class. HUANG Dan, deputy president of College of Fisheries at Huazhong Agricultural University, said that IHB had cooperated with HZAU for many years. He hoped the ASE students could take full advantages of all the sources and platforms at IHB.    

IHB’s deputy director XIE Shouqi introduced the historical development of IHB to the students. On behalf of all the supervisors, Prof. YIN Zhan gave the first lecture on aquatic sciences for the ASE students.    

After the lecture, the ASE students visited the Museum for Aquatic Organisms and interacted with IHB researchers.    

The ASE class was co-organized by IHB and the College of Fisheries at Huazhong Agricultural University. It is aimed at promoting bilateral collaboration between institutes and universities, exploring new ways to cultivate talents and cultivating high-level talents in aquatic sciences field.
