A delegation led by QI Zhenyu, deputy district mayor of Wujiang, Suzhou, paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of Chinese Academy of Sciences on June 6, 2017.    

The visiting delegation introduced the overview of Wujiang district and proposed the needs of Wujiang in the fields of water ecological environment protection and treatment, cyanobacterial blooms control and aquaculture against the background of the imbalanced development between fishery ecolgy and environment harmony.    

As for the development requirement of Wujiang, IHB researchers introduced the control of cyanobacterial blooms, the ecological fishery, ecological restoration of constructed wetland, promotion of the breeding of allogynogenetic gibel carp "CAS Ⅲ" etc. The deputy district mayor hoped to cooperate with IHB in the fields of water environment protection and ecological fishery.    

The visiting delegation later visited the Museum for Aquatic Organisms and Freshwater Algae Culture Collection at IHB. They also visited Prof. LIU Jiankang (CAS academician).
