XU Xudong, deputy director of IHB, welcomed the delegation led by WU Xudong, director general of Fisheries Bureau under Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Department of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

A delegation led by WU Xudong, director general of Fisheries Bureau under Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Department of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of Chinese Academy of Sciences on August 9, 2017. Other members of the delegation were HA Yintao and LIAN Zongqiang, deputy directors of Fishery Research Institute of Ningxia.     

XU Xudong, deputy director of IHB, chaired the symposium and introduced the overview of IHB. IHB Prof. QIU Dongru introduced his team’s research strengths in water ecological restoration and constructed wetland. IHB Associate Prof. XU Dong introduced the development of the cross-strait symposium on constructed wetland. This serial symposium was launched by IHB Prof. WU Zhenbin and was successfully held seven times in Chinese Mainland and Taiwan. More than 2,000 representatives attended the symposiums.    

As discussed, IHB will hold the 8^th cross-strait symposium on constructed wetland with Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Department of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in Yinchuan during Sept. 15 and 21, 2017. Both sides also discussed the programs and arrangements of the symposium.    

WU Xudong also hoped to cooperate with IHB in water ecological restoration and fishery sustainable development.
