A five-member delegation led by YAO Jie, president of Dalian Ocean University, paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of Chinese Academy of Sciences on Sept. 26, 2017.    

XIE Shouqi, deputy director of IHB, gave a brief introduction of the institute to the visiting delegation. HU Zhengyu, deputy director of IHB, positively commented on the joint culture of students by IHB and Dalian Ocean University.    

YAO Jie, president of Dalian Ocean University, introduced how the university responded to the national strategies on the oceans and to the “Belt and Road” Initiative. Based on disciplinary development and talent culture patterns, the university played active role in the protection and ecological treatment of the global ocean resources.    

During their visit, the delegation also visited the students under the joint culture program.    

IHB signed an agreement on joint culture of students with Dalian Ocean University in March 2017. IHB now establishes a joint culture center where the first 18 students have already enrolled and studied in three disciplines, i.e., fisheries, ocean sciences and biology.
