National Engineering Laboratory for Lake Pollution Control and Ecological Restoration Begins to Construct

The launching ceremony of the National Engineering Laboratory for Lake Pollution Control and Ecological Restoration was held at Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences on Oct. 13, 2017. The first meeting of the board members was held in the meantime.
HUANG Runqiu, vice minister of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, expressed his congratulations on the launching of the national engineering laboratory. He also unveiled the plaques for the laboratory and each R&D center under the laboratory.
At the meeting, the first board members and technical board members, directors and vice directors were announced. Prof. ZHAO Jindong, director of Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of Chinese Academy of Sciences, will serve as the vice president of the national engineering laboratory; IHB Prof. WU Zhenbin will serve as the president and vice director of the national engineering laboratory.
The National Engineering Laboratory for Lake Pollution Control and Ecological Restoration was jointly established by Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences, IHB, CCCC Dredging (Group) Company Limited, China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Resources, Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development in Agriculture of CAAS, Tongji University, and Beijing Orient Landscape & Environment Co., Ltd. Other cooperating partners are Wuhan University, Central and Sountern China Municipal Engineering Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd. Its establishment was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission in October 2016. IHB is responsible for the construction of the R&D Center for wetland and ecological restoration technology of water bodies.
