The second session of 2017 Academic Committee Meeting of IHB was held on Oct. 18, 2017 at IHB.

The second session of 2017 Academic Committee Meeting of Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB) was held on Oct. 18, 2017 at IHB. 10 members of the academic committee attended the meeting which was chaired by Prof. CHEN Yiyu, director of the academic committee.   

The meeting reviewed the 2017 special program for young talents. After the defense, six projects for young talents and two projects for studying overseas were chosen to be supported by the program.    

Attendees discussed how to compete for research projects and the construction of research platforms.    

In conclusion, Prof. Chen said that IHB shall highlight its positioning based on the development trend of the future. It shall not lose its original academic strengths and unique research culture. The institute shall build a world first-class research platform and make it bigger and more influential so as to attract and train middle-aged and young talents.
