The 2018 Annual Meeting of the academic committee of the CAS Key Laboratory of Aquatic Biodiversity and Conservation was held at IHB on December 12, 2018.  

The 2018 Annual Meeting of the academic committee of the CAS Key Laboratory of Aquatic Biodiversity and Conservation was held at Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of Chinese Academy of Sciences on December 12, 2018. More than 60 people including seven academic committee members attended the meeting.    

The meeting was chaired by Prof. CHEN Yiyu, director of the academic committee. Prof. HE Shunping, director of the Lab, gave an annual work report of the Lab.   

Four IHB researchers gave oral presentations respectively. Dr. XIONG Jie gave a presentation entitled “Hidden genomic evolution in a morphospecies - the landscape of rapidly evolving genes in Tetrahymena”, Dr. WU Shangong gave a presentation entitled “Composition, structure and functions of gut microbiome in grass carp”, Dr. YU Dan gave a presentation entitled “Phylogeographical pattern and molecular mechanism of thermal adaptation of a global climate change indicator fish Rhynchocypris oxycephalus (Cypriniformes: Cyprinidae)”, Dr. WANG Zhitao gave a presentation entitled "Soundscape of an Indo-Pacific humpback dolphin (Sousa chinensis) hotspot before windfarm construction in the Pearl River Estuary, China: Correlation among prey, predator and their underwater acoustic environment”.    

In the discussion session, the academic committee members discussed on a wide-range of topics from fund application to talent introduction to long-term development goals of the Lab.
