IHB Scientists Begin to Apply for funding from NSFC

IHB organized a meeting to give instructions on how to apply for the funding from NSFC.

The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) was about to open for scientists to apply for funding. Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of Chinese Academy of Sciences organized a meeting to give instructions on how to apply for the funding from NSFC and explained the definition of application quota and introduced the funding policies for various types of programs in 2019.

SHU Shaowu, deputy director of Office of Research and Sponsored Programs at IHB, introduced the issues needing attention during the application progress and the latest reform measures and policies of NSFC in 2019.

YE Ping, director of Office of Finance, explained the specific issues such as budget implementation, final accounts and audit of scientific research project funds.

HE Feng, director of Office of Research and Sponsored Programs at IHB, emphasized the importance of research integrity in project application.

Prof. HU Wei, deputy director of IHB, said that the NSFC is a national scientific research task that young researchers can apply for and undertake independently. It provides a platform for young researchers engaged in basic research and applied basic research to display their talents. It is of great significance to the development of young researchers themselves and the talent cultivation of the institute, but the competition is also fierce.

Prof. Hu encouraged the scientists to prepare for the application and write quality applications for key scientific questions.

Through this meeting, IHB scientists understood the NSFC's latest policies more thoroughly, and the application for NSFC projects was about to kick off.
