IHB held the first symposium on the industrialized application of scientific and technological achievements on January 23, 2019.

In order to further promote the industrialized application of scientific and technological achievements and help researchers improve their technical level and business plan, Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences held the first symposium on the industrialized application of scientific and technological achievements on January 23, 2019.

The symposium was chaired by Prof. HU Wei, deputy director of IHB. 20 projects from 14 research groups and centers were presented at the symposium, several of which have completed product-level research and development and preliminary application in the market. These have laid a good foundation for large-scale industrialization.

Wang Yong, director of Science and Technology Cooperation Office at Wuhan Branch of Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that governments and departments at all levels attached great importance to the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, which provided a good environment for the industrialized application of scientific research achievements.

He suggested that, on the one hand, researchers should actively interact with the market and strive to turn technology into products which the market needs. On the other hand, IHB should further improve the relevant service system and strengthen the promotion of achievements. He said that the Wuhan Branch would provide more resources to help IHB transform its scientific and technological achievements.

In his closing remarks, Prof. HU Wei, deputy director of IHB, said that the symposium was of great significance. It provided a good platform for the exchange of industrialization and application of scientific research.

For the next step, IHB will actively implement relevant policies to promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, help researchers obtain relevant resources, and promote relevant scientific and technological achievements, Hu said.
