XIANG Libin, vice president of Chinese Academy of Sciences, paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of Chinese Academy of Sciences on September 17, 2019.    

During his visit, Xiang said that as one of the 15 institutes established since the beginning of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, IHB had a long history and cultivated generations and generations of talents.  

“You play irreplaceables role in the studies of water ecological restoration, freshwater fishery, and aquatic resources application.” Xiang said. “I hope IHB could fully implement the spirit of President XI Jinping’s remarks on the promotion of the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and make your contribution to the innovation of the development of the Belt.”    

Xiang also put forth his suggestions on aquaculture, smart fishery and water ecological restoration of key water areas.
