Vice President of School of Marine Sciences, SYSU Visits IHB

 

Chin-Chang Hung, vice president of School of Marine Sciences at Sun Yat-Sen University in Taiwan, together with Prof. Chai-cheng Huang, paid a visit to IHB during October 27 and 31, 2019.     

Chin-Chang Hung, vice president of School of Marine Sciences at Sun Yat-Sen University in Taiwan, together with Prof. Chai-cheng Huang, paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of Chinese Academy of Sciences during October 27 and 31, 2019.    

Prof. Hung gave an oral presentation on the aquaculture assisted by AI. He started from the fishing and farming of Penaeus vanamei in Taiwan. Through the development of an AI Internet of things to monitor the shrimp pool water quality, bait status and the health status of white shrimp, researchers could apply the intelligent management to the artificial aquaculture.    

IHB’s Associate Prof. XIAO Enrong introduced her work on the restoration of water ecology. Both sides discussed the prospect of the AI application in aquaculture.   

In order to deepen cooperation, both sides hoped to strengthen collaboration on ecological engineering technology and talents cultivation and exchange.  

Since 2008, IHB and SYSU have jointly organized the Cross-Strait Symposium on Constructed Wetland for ten times. They also conducted feasible cooperation on the water environment and ecological restoration of Love River in Kaohsiung.
