IHB Researchers Investigate Core Demonstration Site of Liangzihu Lake Groups
IHB researchers investigated the fishing ground of Niushanhu Lake which is affiliated to Wuhan Liangzi Lake Fishery Group Co. Ltd. on May 3, 2020.
Researchers from Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of Chinese Academy of Sciences, led by Prof. GUI Jianfang (CAS member) and Prof. YIN Zhan, IHB’s deputy director, investigated the fishing ground of Niushanhu Lake which is affiliated to Wuhan Liangzi Lake Fishery Group Co. Ltd. on May 3, 2020.
IHB researchers, aboard a boat, investigated the sensory quality of waters, weed growth and lake landscapes of Niushanhu Lake. They learned the lake’s fishing pattern and conservation of fishery resources from LIU Jiashou, an expert of fish breeding in large-scale waters from China Agriculture Research System.
IHB researchers had talks with the management team of the demonstrate site and exchanged views with them on the safe supply of aquatic products, conservation of fishery resources and innovation of ecological fishery technology model of lakes.
Niushanhu Lake is one of the first demonstration sites supported by China Agriculture Research System, and the only natural lake with class II water quality.
This investigation is an important one ensuing the guidance issued on the promotion of large-scale ecological fishery development which by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Ministry of Ecology and Environment, National Forestry and Grassland Administration.
