Director of Hubei Agricultural Development Center Visits IHB

 

A seven-member delegation led by HUANG Guoxiong, director of Hubei Agricultural Development Center, paid a visit to IHB on May 21, 2020. 

A seven-member delegation led by HUANG Guoxiong, director of Hubei Agricultural Development Center, paid a visit to Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of Chinese Academy of Sciences on May 21, 2020.    

During his visit, Huang said that “the sustainable high-quality development of fishery in Hubei, the conservation of river and lake ecology and the construction of fishery scientific personnel, all need support from IHB”.    

“We hope IHB could provide support for the promotion of fishery technologies to the fishermen in Hubei, continue to recommend a batch of fishery technologies that do no harm to the ecology, thus enhancing the high-quality development of fishery in Hubei,” said Huang when expressing hope to establish a long-term cooperation mechanisms with IHB.   

IHB Profs. CAO Wenxuan and GUI Jianfang, two CAS members, gave their suggestions on the fishery development in Hubei, the effective management ensuing ten-year fishing ban launched in the Yangtze River, and conservation of aquatic diversity in the Yangtze.   

IHB’s deputy director YIN Zhan introduced the institute’s overview, with special emphasis on the study and prospect of freshwater fishery. Yin extended his gratitude to Hubei Agricultural Development Center for constantly support IHB’s research work.   
“Taking advantage of IHB’s scientific strengths, IHB is willing to cultivate a research team that could contribute to the fishery development of Hubei.” Yin said.
