The First Symposium on Carbohydrate Nutrition and Metabolism in Aquatic Animals was held at the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences during April 24 and 25, 2021. More than 200 experts and representatives from universities and enterprises attended the symposium.
The opening ceremony was chaired by IHB Prof. HAN Dong. YIN Zhan, director of IHB, and MAI Kangsen, a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor of Ocean University of China, addressed at the symposium.
26 oral presentations were given featuring topics like carbohydrate and aquatic animal growth, homeostasis, gluconeogenesis, carbohydrate metabolism and utilization and its mechanism, interactions between carbohydrate and lipid, and factors and signal pathways that influence carbohydrate metabolism.
This symposium served as a platform for researchers to interact with each other, and promote the development of carbohydrate nutrition in aquatic animals.
